The North Peace Leisure Pool will remain closed until early August.

The pool was shut done on July 18, following a fire that caused significant damage to facility. Investigators from the Fort St. John Fire Department concluded that the cause of the blaze was undetermined due to the extreme heat and damage.

It is anticipated that the pool will reopen during the week of August 10 to August 14 but an exact date is expected to be announced soon.

The pool typically shuts down for maintenance in early August but Julie Rogers, a City spokesperson, told that the regularly scheduled maintenance this year is expected to take place August 30-September 28.

Swimming lessons that were scheduled to run between August 4 and August 14 will be cancelled but enrolled patrons will received full credits for those cancelled classes.

Lessons scheduled for August 17 are scheduled to run as planned.
