The federal and provincial government will be contributing up to $68,466 each to help improve the waste water system in Pouce Coupe through the Small Communities Fund. The announcement was made by Prince George-Peace River MP Bob Zimmer and the upgrades will increase the treatment capacity and two additional drying beds will be built which will reduce sludge build up.
The price tag of the project is tabbed at $205,400, and the Village of Pouce Coupe will be picking up the difference.
When the project is finished, it’s hoped the work will improve municipal services for residents and boost regional development.
