This holiday season, all of our Supporters are entered to win an $800 Shopping Spree Giveaway!

Adults looking to upgrade their schooling to help prep them for college could see most of their program costs covered under a new bursary program at Northern Lights College.

The NLC Foundation announced this week the award will cover 100 per cent of books and 75 per cent of program costs for those looking to upgrade.

The funds are part of the new Career and College Preparation Bursary Fund. The college says it has seen slow enrollment pick up for its Career and College Preparation program, designed for those looking to finish their high school education, or upgrade to meet prerequisites for trades, vocational, or university studies.

Less than 200 students have enrolled since 2013.

“These bursaries will be available to CCP students who have exhausted all other sources of funding for the September 2015 start,” Donna Kane, NLCF executive director, is quoted as saying in a release.

“The students can be either full- or part-time, and would not be eligible for an Adult Upgrading Grant [formerly known as ABESAP].”
