The Alaska Highway is now open after being closed for most of the night because of a fatal motor vehicle incident.

The Dawson Creek RCMP say the incident happen approximately 15km north of Dawson Creek near the Mason Road.  The lone occupant of the vehicle was ejected and passed away at the scene of the collision.

Dawson Creek Traffic Services and a Collision Reconstructionist spent most of Sunday night on scene investigating the collision.  The RCMP have not released any specific details about the collision.

The Alaska Highway opened to traffic in both directions at 5:30 am Monday.
