Officials have reopened the Alaska Highway at km 386 near the Big Beaver Creek Fire. Rain in the area overnight has helped contain the fire enough that the highway can open again.
All vehicles will be piloted through the forest fire area. Motorists are asked to use headlights at all times. There is still a large amount of smoke in the area.
Once we get a further update on the status of the fire, we will post more information.
