Spring league basketball nearing conclusion

The second last week of spring league basketball for 2015 is in the books. In this week’s games both the senior girls and senior boys had games decided by four points or less.

In senior girls action D. Bauer defeated Sunlife 29-25. The player of the game for D. Bauer was Tegan Topal as she played well at both ends of the court, and Alexis Ziebart was Sunlife’s top player with hard work overall and pushing the ball down the court.

Motive 7 defeated Jiffy Lube 43-34. Britney Peters showed good leadership for Motive 7 and Catherin Ross was solid defensively.

In the senior boys division Sunlife fell to Jiffy Lube 76-67. Jiffy Lube’s player of the game was Earl Conception with his aggressive play and effort on defence. Standing out for Jiffy Lube was Marc Schaefer with his work on the boards.

D. Bauer narrowly got by Motive 7 68-66. Lucas Ziebart had a solid overall game for D. Bauer, and Motive 7’s player of the game was Tyler Coulter for his overall effort, and getting the difficult baskets down low.

In the junior games, players who had solid showings were Hunter Kramer, Morgan Fraser, Kaiven Olsen, Anaff Dema, Shannon McBrearly, and Lucas Willms.
