Police searching for stolen dirt bikes

One of two dirt bikes Fort St. John RCMP say were stolen from a shed at a home south of the Alaska Highway June 4.

Fort St. John RCMP are seeking the public’s help to find two stolen dirt bikes.

In a release, RCMP say someone cut the padlock to a shed at a home south of the Alaska Highway sometime during the night of June 4.

A blue 2005 Yamaha Y2 250 and a black 2007 Yamaha YZ 250 were stolen, according to police. No further details were provided.

Though the shed was padlocked, police are reminding people to keep their bikes and valuables locked in a shed or garage, with a key stored in a separate location. Police also suggest people take photographs of their possession and record any identifying information and serial numbers for their records. Police say this information helps officers return stolen property to the right people.

Anyone who may know about the whereabouts of the dirt bikes are asked to called RCMP at 250-787-8100 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
