Police were on the lookout last night for a man who allegedly tried to lure a young girl into his vehicle near Northern Lights College, Fort St. John RCMP say.
On Monday evening around 5 p.m., a 15-year-old girl reported a suspicious white vehicle that had driven by her a few times. At one point, the driver stopped and asked the girl to get into his vehicle.
The girl said no and informed police, according to spokeswoman Cpl. Jodi Shelkie.
Officers conducted extensive patrols throughout the area, but were not able to find the driver. The suspect was described as a white male driving a white vehicle, however, police do not have any more information to go by.
“That’s all she had for us,” said Shelkie.
Shelkie urged anyone noticing suspicious activity to get as much details as they can to help police, such as a license plate number, or the make and model of the vehicle.
“It’s hard when you’re under stress,” Shelkie said. “Eye color, height, weight.
“Be the best witness you can be,” she said.
