Man believed to be in Fort St. John after skipping court date in Alberta

Justice officials in Alberta have issued an arrest warrant for William Pelkey, who they believe to once again be in the Fort St. John area.

Court officials say Pelkey was supposed to appear before a judge in Peace River Provincial Court June 22 regarding a number of alleged sexual offences involving minors, but did not show up.

The events are alleged to have taken place in the Manning area in 2007 and 2013.

Manning RCMP Cst. Scott Ritchie confirmed authorities believe Pelkey is once again in, or heading to, Fort St. John, although is connection to the city remains unclear.

It’s not the first time Pelkey has been wanted by police.

On May 21, Fort St. John RCMP issued a public warning that Pelkey was believed to be in the city and wanted on the outstanding charges. He was quickly arrested by local police on May 22 without incident and handed over to Alberta authorities.

Pelkey, who also goes by the name of Will Robinson, is six feet tall, weighs 175 pounds, and has dark hair and green eyes.

Anyone who may have seen Pelkey, or knows of his whereabouts, is asked to call the Fort St. John RCMP at 250-787-8100, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
