The weatherman is calling for sunshine and a high of 20 C for Saturday, and that suits the organizers of the upcoming chili bowl bash just fine.
The eighth annual events is nearly sold out with about 20 tickets left as of a last count on Thursday, according organizer Britney Carlstrom.
This year’s bash, put on by the North Peace Potters’ Guild, will feature 150 bowls, and six local chefs — including MooseFM’s Sarah Carmichael — competing for the best chili crown.
“As we’ve gotten more members, there’s been a greater variety of bowls,” said Carlstrom, adding the event has been a boon to Guild membership.
The event will shut down a portion of 104 Street outside the Artspost from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. The bash runs at 6 p.m.
Live entertainment will be provided by 56th Collective, and there will be a pinata for kids, a silent auction and a 50/50 draw.
The event is the only major fundraiser for the North Peace Potters’ Guild.
