The Fort St. John Killbillies welcomed the Northern Mayhem to the North Peace Arena on Saturday night for some roller derby action. The Mayhem, a joint team from Williams Lake, Terrace, Grande Prairie, and Prince George made the trip to Fort St. John and came away with a 180-139 win over the Killbillies.
Coach Ashley Large said the team was forced to make some line-up changes prior to the game and as such it took the Killbillies awhile to get adjusted and familiar with their new places on the track.
“We’ve had some changes lately and rearranged some people and saw a little bit of that frustration in the beginning. Some holes opening up where skaters were expecting their typical linemates to be there and she wasn’t there because she was moved around a bit. We’ve got some kinks to work out but luckily we’ve got two more games within three weeks.”
Up next the team will conclude their home schedule with a game on June 13 against Prince George.
