RCMP in Beaverlodge say an alleged sexual assault at Hommy Park earlier this month was unfounded.

The incident was alleged to have occurred June 11. A woman said she was walking through the park around 8 p.m. when she passed a man who assaulted her minutes later. A knife was alleged to have been used in the attack, and the woman was reported to have been treated with non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP say the have concluded their investigation, deeming the events to be unfounded.

They say there is no public safety concern.
