Fire crews are making progress on containing the wild fire near Prophet River. The fire is still just under 2,000 hectares in size, but is now 15 per cent contained.
Prince George Fire Centre spokesperson Jill Kelsh said crews are still attacking the fire directly from the west and south sides. Hot spots are being extinguished in that area as well.
Helicopters are bucketing as needed and burn off procedures are being considered for the north and east side of the fire.
An evacuation alert for the area including Prophet River is still in effect.
