Northern Rockies RCMP respond to shooting

A 21 year old male is recovering in hospital after being shot by a 41 year old male while camping near the Prophet River First Nations. Northern Rockies RCMP responded to the report just after 11 p.m. Tuesday night and the 21 year old was rushed to hospital shortly after.

The shooter was arrested without incident and has been remanded in custody while police investigate. He’s scheduled to appear in a Fort Nelson court tomorrow. Police are recommending a charge of careless use of a firearm.

The victim is currently in stable condition.
