A 17 year old Grande Prairie male is facing a charge of dangerous driving after rolling his vehicle after being recorded travelling at a high rate of speed. The incident happened yesterday at 11:20 a.m. as the driver rolled the car while travelling at over 200 kilometres an hour.
The blue Honda Civic was eastbound on Highway 43 between Range Road 84 and 85 when it was clocked by the Integrated Traffic Unit. By the time police had turned around to pursue the vehicle it had rolled and come to a rest in a farmer’s field. The driver had only minor injuries and did not require further treatment.
The male who cannot be identified will appear in a Grande Prairie court at a later date.
