Evacuation alert rescinded for area around Klua Lakes

This map shows the area the evacuation alert was for before being rescinded this afternoon.

The evacuation order that had been in effect for the Kula Lakes area because of the wild fire has been rescinded as of 4 p.m. this afternoon. The alert was first issued on May 21 after a wildfire in the area grew to nearly 2,000 hectares.

The alert covered the community of Prophet River an area bounded by the latitudes 58 58.00’N to 58 15.00’N and longitudes 122 30.0’W to 122 45.0’W. The entire Klua Lakes protected area was also included.
