This holiday season, all of our Supporters are entered to win an $800 Shopping Spree Giveaway!

TORONTO — Bad weather delayed the start of Saturday’s MLS game between Toronto FC and the San Jose Earthquakes by 23 minutes.

When the 5 p.m. ET kickoff time came, the stands at BMO Field were deserted as stadium officials kept fans under the stands due to the threat of lightning. Fans were allowed in the seats around 5:15 with kickoff scheduled for 5:23.

The stadium video board was a casualty of the inclement conditions, however. It was not working when the game began but kicked back in before the 10-minute mark.
