Dawson Creek RCMP responded to 229 calls for service last week. Some of the calls consisted of eight break and enters, five vehicle thefts, five impaired driving complaints, 12 collisions, and 36 driving complaints.
On May 19 officers investigated a break and enter of a business located on 113 Avenue. The suspects ended up stealing a 2002 Honda quad, a 5,000 watt Honda generator, water pumps, and fuel from vehicles that were in the yard.
In the same day officers responded to another break and enter, this time at a business on 114 Avenue. A 2013 14 foot Mirage dump trailer was stolen. Police believe it is probable that the two incidents are linked as the trailer was likely stolen to transport the items in the above robbery.
Anyone with information on either case is asked to call the Dawson Creek RCMP at 250-784-3700, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
On May 21 RCMP were called to the Dawson Creek Golf and Country Club. Upon their arrival officers discovered a number of lockers had been broken into and some golf carts had been vandalized. The following day an individual turned himself into police regarding the break and enter at the course. He also confessed to the arson at KPAC earlier this year. The male was remanded in custody and appeared in court yesterday. He’s been charged with seven counts of break and enter, five counts of theft, five counts of mischief, and one count of arson.
