Five students from north east B.C. enrolled in the Northern Medical Program celebrated their graduation in Prince George on Saturday. Of the five graduates four are from Dawson Creek, and the other is from Fort St. John.

Graduates of the program will now enter into two to seven years of medical residency and fellowship training depending on their specialty.

Overall 20 graduates will be going into family residency programs, and nine of those will be training in northern B.C.

The five students from the region are Omesh Syal, Jayden McIntyre, Elizabeth Weninger, and Sheldon Clark from Dawson Creek, and Taya O’Neill from Fort St. John.
