The Province was then forced to provide the communities in the Peace with the original amount negotiated under the 2005 agreement. That amount was just over 46 million.
According to a post on the City of Fort St. John’s twitter account, the 1 p.m. meeting on Monday will give Council an update on the negotiations and help provide the negotiating team with direction.
In February the Province, told the communities of the Peace they had until April 30, to agree to a new Fair Share deal, even though the original deal wasn’t supposed to expire until 2020.
