The second week of spring league basketball came to an end yesterday as teams got together at North Peace Secondary School. The senior boys side featured some tight games as one was decided by seven points, and another resulted in a tie.
In the first senior boys game Sunlife were winners over D. Bauer 62-55. Blake Hedges was the top player for Sunlife as he exhibited great play on the boards. Lucas Ziebart stood out for D. Bauer with solid overall play.
Motive 7 and Jiffy Lube battled to a 65-65 tie. Hunter Badke was the player of the game for Motive 7 as he did great work fighting for rebounds, and the Jiffy Lube player of the game was Tye Woodruff for good defensive play and solid work on the boards.
The senior girls division had Motive 7 winning over Jiffy Lube 51-37. The top player for Motive 7 was Alexandra Lehman for solid hustle throughout the contest. Jiffy Lube’s top player was Azaria Richards.
Sunlife narrowly got by D. Bauer 35-30. Tori Coulter was Sunlife’s best player with her strong shooting, and Tegan Topal showed great awareness on the court of D. Bauer.
In junior action, players recognized for their efforts were Elanor Copes, Jack Corr, Noah Terford, Raya Heinrichs, Colton Dyck, and Lee West.
