This year’s annual Day of Mourning for workers who have passed away as a result of their jobs will take place on April 28. Observers will be at Fort St. John City Hall at noon to mark the day.
This past year 173 workers in the province died, and 98 of those were the result of occupational disease resulting from exposure to asbestos over their careers.
After the ceremony at City Hall concludes, it will be followed by a procession to the Workers Memorial at Centennial Park.
