Faculty at University of Northern British Columbia on strike

The two sides in the dispute met into the evening hours yesterday and are planning to meet again today.

Nevertheless, the Faculty Association has indicated that pickets will be stationed at all campus entrances in Prince George beginning at 9:00 a.m MT.

The Prince George campus will remain open, but we’re told no classes will be taught for the duration of the walkout.

Similarly, the faculty will not be teaching classes at regional campuses but it is expected that support staff will be reporting for work here in Fort St. John and Quesnel.

However, it is anticipated the Terrace campus will be behind a picket line, and the university also expects CUPE support staff members will not cross picket lines.
