The vehicle had hit the meridian near 87 avenue and burst into flames. An RCMP member broke the vehicle window and pulled the 29 year-old male to safety. He was taken to the Fort St. John Hospital for smoke inhalation.
The road was closed in the area while the Fort St. John Fire Department extinguished the fire and the vehicle was removed.
According to Cpl. Jodi Shelkie, the RCMP are still waiting for final test results, but once those are back, they should be recommending of impaired driving.
