Fraser looks forward to picking up where Jarvis left off

Fraser said it was pleasure to have won the election and he hopes to continue the lessons he learned from working with Jarvis.

“I’m honoured and humbled and grateful that the people of Taylor have chosen me to be their next Mayor and to take over from Mayor Fred Jarvis,” he stated. “I don’t feel any extra pressure. I was on Council for 12 years and I learned under Fred Jarvis. I feel really comfortable moving forward. I understand the way he did business working with him for 12 years and I think I can continue that trend.”

Among the issues Fraser is looking forward to confronting is maintaining the safety of the community while taking the necessary steps in anticipating growth.

“I’m very interested in making sure that our community continues to be safe. It’s important that our fire department and our emergency social services are supported,” he explained. “It’s important that we keep a good supply of safe water in Taylor. I’d like to see responsible growth. We’ll be seeing huge growth in this region the next four to ten years and I just want to make sure Taylor is set up to receive whatever part of that growth comes our way.”

Fraser also plans on making sure the tax base stays affordable for businesses, industry, and residents.

Also running for mayor were Brad Filmer, and Wayne Wilmot. They garnered 123, and 26 votes respectively.
