First Nations challenging Site C in Federal Court

Recall the proposed $8 billion dam received provincial and federal government environmental certificates last month.

However the bands, all of whom are members of the Treaty 8 Tribal Association, have filed an application for judicial review in Federal Court seeking to quash the federal government’s approval.

They say the government did not adequately consider the adverse impact the project would have on Treaty 8 Nations.
