The general practitioners will share a rotation for periods of time, throughout October and November, to increase appointment availability.
On top of the Doctors, Northern Health has been successful in recruiting a nurse practitioner that will work full time in the unattached patient clinic.  The hiring comes a month after the Province announced funding for three more new positions.
Recruitment for the other two positions continues.
Nurse practitioners work side-by-side with physicians in the community providing primary-care services, including annual physical examinations, patient counseling, health promotion, immunizations, and treatment of short-term acute illness.
