“Our Veterans’ legacy Table Project began in 2013 with three new round tables in our Duncan Cran room to compliment the chairs donated by the Fort St. John Lions Club and the room’s newly completed renovations,” a written statement from The Legion reads.
The Legion adds, “We have three more rectangular tables ready now for the main lounge and are working on more.”
Eight pictures of veterans rest on each table, all of which are black and white with the name of the veteran and the regiment they served printed underneath.
Sponsorship at each table for companies cost $750 for a double logo table and $1,500 for a single logo table.
“The response has been awesome,” The Legion continues to write. “What a wonderful way to honour our veterans and their families, support our Legion, and preserve some memories.”
The tables are manufactured using epoxy coating and sealer that covers the pictures and logos to preserve them.
If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor or if you have a family member you’d like to commemorate, contact Marilyn Hunter at 250 262 9627, The Legion at 250 785 3917, or email mjhunter337@gmail.com.
The Legion says the honoured veteran doesn’t necessarily need to be a resident of Fort St. John to be a part of the table project.
