As part of his training for the upcoming bout Stewart has been more focused than ever as he’s cut back on his work schedule which has allowed him to train with high calibre talent not only in Fort St. John but in Vancouver as well.
“I’m a good ten weeks into it [training] now so it’s been a nice camp. I haven’t been working too much so I spent a few weeks down in Vancouver and got to train with Don Whitefield and Shawn Albrecht for awhile. I got to roll with a lot of high level of jiu jitsu guys,” he explained.
The training in Vancouver was especially beneficial for Stewart as he hit the gym every day in an effort to expose himself to various styles of fighters.
“I got to roll with a lot of high level jiu jitsu guys and with a lot of training partners. There was a lot of different styles that people brought down there. It was really good. I got to train every day down there,” he said.
