Support Fort St John News

The latest worker ratification involves almost 3,200 support staff in eight districts who have signed agreements with the B.C. government, giving them a 5.5 per cent wage increase over five years.

This is another public sector contract that allows for more compensation if the provincial economy exceeds the annual forecast set out by the Economic Forecast Council in the four years prior to the deal’s expiration date.

The support workers will also get reimbursed within 30 days of ratification for scheduled time not paid during the months-long teachers’ strike, which began in June and just ended late last week.
