Support Fort St John News

In a release Corporal Jodi Shelkie says, “This is the third skid steer stolen in the Fort St. John area in just over three weeks. At this time police don’t have any indication that the thefts were by the same person(s) but obviously this type of equipment is being targeted. Hopefully someone has witnessed the thefts or has since seen one of the skid steers and know of their location.”

The machinery is said to have gone missing at approximately 2:20 a.m. on August 26 from the 6700 block of 100 Avenue. Surveillance shows the skid steer being loaded onto a trailer being pulled by a white flat deck truck. The make of the truck is unknown and the license plate was not seen.

RCMP ask if anyone sees any type of equipment being moved in the evening to notify police so officers can confirm ownership.

Anyone with information in any of the cases is asked to call the Fort St. John RCMP at 250-787-8100, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Police note that the included photo is not the exact skid steer, but a similar model.
