BCWEN is a non-profit organization and they have received funding from the federal government for a three year project that will look at how to increase the number of women employed in the Northern B.C. energy sector. According to BCWEN women make up 49 per cent of Canada’s workforce however, when it comes to the energy sector less than 25 per cent make up the work force, and that number dips lower when it comes to Northern B.C.
The organization has launched two surveys to gather more information on the issue. One is targeted for employers, and the other for female residents in Northern B.C. Employers wanting to take part in the survey can do so by clicking here, and female residents working, or looking to work in the energy industry can do so by clicking here.
