New online tool available for B.C. agriculture sector

Agpal offers information and links regarding application details for programs including funding to help reach new markets, adopting new technology for a more sustainable operation, as well as access to insurance programs for weather-related losses.

The website was launched by the feds in 2012, and is a response to farmers’ request for a database of consistent and trustworthy information on government funded programs and services, offering custom search functions that helps filter industry sectors and discover unique funding to match their needs.

B.C. is the fifth province to join AgPal, following Saskatchewan, Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Nova Scotia.

AgPal also includes Farm Credit Canada, the Canadian Agricultural Human Resources Council, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency programs.
