Evacuation order and alert rescinded for Mount McAllister fire

The evacuation order for the areas encompassing a portion of the Moberly Forest Service Road to just north of Mount Hulcross, as well as the western boundary of the Klin-Se-Za protected area and directly north to Carbon Lake is rescinded.

Meanwhile, the evacuation alert for the areas of Moberly Lake, extending to the northern point of Boucher Lake Road, directly west to the Klin-Se-Za protected area, north along Carbon Creek to the southern edge of Willison Lake, directly east to the Hudson’s Hope boundary is now cancelled.

The cancellation of both the order and alert does not apply to the West Moberly First Nations or Saulteau First Nations.

Information on the status of these alerts should be directed to the band offices.

Although the Peace River Regional District’s order and alert are no longer in effect, the Wildfire Management Branch plans to issue an order to restrict access in the areas later today.

Anyone travelling to these areas is advised to check bcwildfire.ca for information on the conditions of the restricted access points.

The district says weather conditions are cooperating, allowing crews to line-locate and begin dozer guard construction, working swing shifts to maximize production during this opportunity.
