During the order of restricted access, a person may not remain in or enter the area designated as restricted unless they first receive written authorization from a Wildfire Management Branch official, and may only enter the area in the course of travelling to and from their residence.

The restriction applies from the 18.5 kilometre mark on the Johnson Forest Service Road, north to Dinosaur Lake, and continues west 24 kilometres, south 24 kilometres, east 24 kilometres, and again north back to 18.5 kilometres on the Johnson Forest Service Road.

The Mount McAllister fire currently covers 15,847 hectares and is 0 per cent contained.

There are 162 firefighters, 50 support staff, 6 helicopters and 35 pieces of heavy equipment currently working on the fire.
