One positive has been the weather. The cool wet weather has slowed down the fire and allowed crews the chance to start building fire guards.
There are currently 42 firefighters, 7 helicopters and 30 pieces of heavy equipment working the fire. Crews will continue to build fire guards in swing shifts to help maximize production during the good weather.
The District of Hudson’s Hope is still on evacuation alert. An evacuation alert is still in effect for an area of the Peace River Regional District that includes Moberly Lake extending to the northernmost point of Boucher Lake Road, directly west to the Klin-Se-Za protected area, north along Carbon Creek to the southern edge of Williston Lake directly east to the boundary of Hudson’s Hope.
