Rainfall warning in effect for:
Rainfall – evening to evening Tuesday.
Rainfall, heavy at times, combined with melting snow pack at higher elevations, is expected. The ground, already near saturation, has little ability to absorb further rainfall.
A low pressure system developing over northeast BC tonight will create a moist northeasterly flow over the warned regions. Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm are expected tonight through Tuesday with the highest amounts expected along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains. In addition, wet snow is possible near Summit Pass overnight and Tuesday morning.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Don’t approach washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Be prepared for winter conditions at higher elevations.
Rainfall Warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
