If you are not a patient of the following doctors, you’ll no longer be able to receive medical attention at the clinic:
Dr. Pieta DeBruyn
Dr. Rysbergen will continue locum services and care for Dr. Dupreez’s patients up until the end of July.
Five doctors announced they would be closing their family practices this July, leaving over 6,000 people without a physician.
That is on top of over 18,000 people that already don’t have a family doctor.
There are also changes being made to hours of operation and time of appointments. The clinic is open 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., closed between 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. for lunch. However, due to the reduced number of physicians, same day services will only be available from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and there will be no Saturday morning clinic.
Northern Health is expected to update the media on the status of the Unattached Patient Clinic in the next couple days, at which point energeticcity.ca/Moose FM will announce the information.
Northern Health opened a similar clinic in Prince George in 2008, when that community was in a similar situation, helping to dramatically reduce the number of unattached patients.
