They’re also excited about new programs for teens, including the Young Writers Program, featuring exploration in journalism, blogging, song-writing, graphic novels and more.
Kids aged 7 – 12 are also invited to join the free day-camp, With Library…and Beyond, which includes field trips to local sports, arts and cultural activities.
The camp is in partnership with School District 60’s Settlement Workers in School, the Government of Canada and Welcome B.C.
Mid-summer parties are also in the works, a Barnyard Bash, kids 2 – 6, and How to Train Your Dragon for kids 7 – 14.
Fort St. John Public Library has experienced a large cut in federal grant funding this year.
However, they’ve fortunate to receive generous support from private-sector sponsorship, but still need funds to ensure they can continue to offer our wide range of high-quality free children’s and youth programs.
In 2013, FSJPL Summer Reading Club programs saw well over 2,000 participants.
Registration for all programs begins June 26, 2014 and continues all summer.
