Snowfall warning in effect for:
- Fort Nelson
Snowfall – late evening Tuesday to late evening Wednesday.
A long period of snowfall, with total amounts of 20 to 30 cm is expected.
A moist easterly flow will develop over southern sections of the Fort Nelson region near the Rockies. The precipitation will initially begin as rain today but change to snow late this evening and particularly affect the sections of the Alaska Highway running through the region. Accumulations of up to 15 cm of snow are expected tonight with a further 15 cm occurring on Wednesday.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Snowfall Warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
