Calgary’s Veresen Incorporated has Jordan Cove LNG project approved

The project will count on an existing series of pipelines to transport the liquefied natural gas from Western Canada to Oregon. The approval comes on the heels the project being approved by Canada’s National Energy Board for a 25 year license application that will send 1,550,000,000 cubic feet of liquefied natural gas a day from Western Canada to the U.S.

Don Althoff, CEO of Veresen has stated that the Jordan Cove project will create jobs and tax revenue in the state. The project however is being opposed by environmentalists and some local residents.

The project is slated to begin in 2019 with the liquefied natural gas being sent to Coos Bay in Oregon.
