Site C public hearings move to Aboriginal communities

The Joint Federal-Provincial Review Panel will then conclude the December sessions with one on Thursday morning in Prince George before taking an extended holiday break and not resuming the public hearings until January 6th.

There are, however, 14 New Year sessions set for more public input on the proposed $8 billion project, with the last seven scheduled back in Fort St. John over an 11 day period ending on January 23rd.

The decision for joint senior government hearings dates back to September of 2011, when the federal and provincial environment ministers announced a single cooperative environmental assessment would avoid, what they called, unnecessary duplication and delays.
