Morrison top Canadian after day one of Kazakhstan World Cup event

Morrison’s time was only .66 of a second shy of a podium placement. He wasn’t thrilled with the result but does believe that his skating is getting better each time out.

“I have been steadily improving in the 1000 metre throughout this season, both in time and ranking,” Morrison says. “The result in my 1,500 metre wasn’t what I was hoping for, but I believe my skating has continued to improve.”

Morrison will now turn his attention to the 1,000 metre race tomorrow.
