At the same time, natural gas customers looking to heat their homes can expect to pay between $1.10 and $1.30 per litre for heating oil, which is around last year’s costs. Based on weather forecasts, heating demands are predicted to be average to below-average in most of the country. 

Natural gas inventories were at record high levels last year, and this year they’re expected to be lower, but still within the five-year average. 

Production of natural gas in Canada and the U.S. is expected to run around 70 billion cubic feet per day, as it has so far this year.
