North of the Peace River, Fort St. John and area should only see about 10 cm of snow today.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

Pacific moisture streaming over an Arctic airmass over east-Central British Columbia will result in significant snowfall amounts for Williston, McGregor, Northern Yellowhead, and Southern Peace River regions today and tonight before ending early Friday morning. Accumulations of 15 to 30 cm are likely with the heaviest amounts occurring along the Rocky Mountains in the McGregor Northern Yellowhead and the Southern Peace River regions.

Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview continued

10 to 20 cm of snow by Friday morning.

A frontal system in British Columbia will move eastward into Northwestern Alberta today. Snow has begun this morning near the BC border and will spread eastwards throughout the day. General amounts of 10 to 20 cm of snow are expected, however heavy bands of snow are likely to develop, which may locally produce higher amounts of snow up to 30 cm.

At this time, the town of Peace River is not expected to receive heavy snow, however towns to the south can expect 10 cm or more.

Snow will taper off Friday morning as the system weakens.
