In addition to the one millimetre of rain recorded Saturday, this was the first measurable amount of precipitation received since the 9th of month, but the total was already well past the October norm of 25.8 millimetres, and unofficially it now stands at 33.3.

It also marks the unofficial return to winter driving conditions and there’s already been a South Peace collision in which weather might have been a factor. There’s nothing yet from the RCMP on it, but DriveBC reports suggest that Highway 2 in Dawson Creek just south of the junction with Highway 97 North was closed for at least eight hours prior to being reopened just before 6 a.m. this morning.
