The District PAC is also getting $2,500 for administrative costs and educational and promotional materials, as well as to help it communicate with its community.

PACs in Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Groundbirch, Moberly Lake, Pouce Couple, Rolla, and Tumbler Ridge are all getting funding, which can be used for things like extra-curricular activities, student travel, playground and sports equipment, as well as scholarships and bursaries.

“Parent Advisory Councils do a lot of great work for schools, from organizing after school events to buying sports equipment,” says South Peace MLA Mike Bernier. “The funding they receive through Community Gaming Grants gives PACs financial support that helps them provide these sorts of services, which make a big difference for students.”

The amounts range from $680 for Rolla Traditional School to $20,880 for Dawson Creek Secondary School.
