Small fire in garbage can at Ridgeview Village Apartments

“When we arrived on scene, it looked like we had heavy black smoke showing,” he explains. “Once the crews got in, there was a small little fire based inside a garbage can. We were able to extinguish it quickly.”

Nearby tenants were evacuated from their suites, but now that the smoke has been cleared from the building, all but the affected suite have been allowed back in. The resident of the suite wasn’t home at the time of the fire, but a cat inside was affected by the smoke, who will reportedly be alright.

At this point the cause of the flame is still undetermined, and the involvement of the garbage can is the only known factor.

The fire was only one apartment row over from the fire that heavily damaged multiple suites at the Hampton Green Townhouses in May, which are now being repaired.
