Silviculture Trail in Fish Creek Community Forest closed after slide

“We will be calling in a contractor to remove the danger trees and then assess the situation from there, so the trail will be closed for the public’s safety,” he explains.

The Silviculture Trail is the furthest west of the three interpretive trails in the Community Forest, and it is already blocked off to keep the public away. In addition to the fallen trees, there is also potentially unstable grounds along the trail due to the slide.

The larger Multi-Purpose Trail and Anatomy Trails are still open for use during the Silviculture Trail’s closure, which Stanley said could still be reopened once safe.

“We just have to make sure that we take every precaution for everyone’s safety and assess the situation.”
