Province setting new allowable annual cut for Peace Region timber

As of May 1, 2003, the allowable annual cut for the Dawson Creek Timber Supply Area has been 1.86 million cubic metres. That covers around 2.3 million hectares in a region that also includes Fort St. John, Hudson’s Hope, Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge.

The allowable annual cut for each timber supply area in the province must be set every 10 years.
